Afflicted But Ultimately Delivered

Psalm 34:19

19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all.

Many believers feel afflicted during this season due to the world grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, but the above text provides hope during a time when it is needed the most. The word afflictions in its original Hebrew form means evil, wickedness, depravity, misfortune, or disaster. Believers have been exposed to all of those terms since March of this year.

The text attributes the reality of dealing with such occurrences to the righteous, which is a status that can only be accomplished through a relationship with Jesus Christ. As believers, we identify with Christ as His followers which exposes us to His presence, promises and power. The text clearly promises us that we will be delivered from all the afflictions He allows in our lives, so through faith, we must continue to believe that the day of deliverance is quickly approaching. If you do not give up, out, or in ultimately, you will win. Hold on to His unchanging Hand and He will lead you out of this season as an overcomer.

In Christ Alone,
